Who we are
A Stage For Every Story
Star City Academy for the Performing Arts (SCAPA) was founded on the principle of providing a “nurturing and non-competitive environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and self-expression.” Every single person embodies a unique story, told from a unique perspective, and at SCAPA we want to hear your story. We offer appropriate opportunities to perform on stage, in various capacities, to every student, regardless of prior experience. We strive to create a safe place for you to explore your craft, to learn more about the performing arts, and to express exactly what makes you you!

Camp Cabaret
Spend a week at SCAPA singing and dancing high-energy musical theater songs in a Cabaret style performance!
Ages: 6th – 8th Grade
Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
Dates: June 29 – July 2
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Showcase at Showtimers Community Theatre: Thursday, July 2 at 5:30pm
Cost: $300
Dance Intensive
Escape the heat with us inside as we work on our dance skills! We will learn routines and combinations set to songs from multiple genres and styles! Dance technique will be taught and implemented, and enforced!
Ages: 7th – 12th Grade
Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
Dates: June 15 – 19
Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Showcase at Showtimers Community Theatre: Friday, June 19 at 7:30pm
Cost: $250
Little Stars: Music and Drama
Sometimes our littlest friends make the biggest noise! Come sing, dance, and act with us! – Theme: TBD
*4 day camp in observance with July 4th weekend*
Ages: K – 2nd Grade
Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
Dates: June 29 – July 2
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Showcase at Showtimers Community Theatre: Thursday, July 2 at 12:30pm
Cost: $250
The Star City Players
This all day camp for upper elementary is designed with high-energy in mind! The Star City Players will put together a short musical skit with dialogue, song, and dance – Theme: TBD!
Ages: 3rd – 5th Grade
Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
Dates: July 6 – 10
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Showcase at Showtimers Community Theatre: Friday, July 10 at 5:30pm
Cost: $500
Summer Production Class – Something Rotten Jr!
Officially announcing our Summer Production – Something Rotten Jr! We’re back with another production class – Join us for this musical comedy featuring lots of dance numbers, ridiculous plot lines, and hilarious characters. It will be an
egg-cellently good time!
Ages: 7th – 12th Grade
Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
Auditions: Saturday, July 11
Rehearsals: July 13 – August 27
Times:
• Mondays/Wednesdays/Thursdays: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
• Saturdays (July 25, August 8, August 15 if needed): 10:00am – 12:00pm
Tech Week (MANDATORY) at Showtimers Community Theatre:

• Monday thru Thursday, August 31 – Sept. 3
Performances (MANDATORY) at Showtimers Community Theatre:
